In the 5th century BC, Athens dominated Europe, at least from a cultural point of view. The site dominates the city, perched on a small hill 150 m above sea level. It is surrounded by a wall that is over 3,000 years old.
This hill was the birthplace of democracy, philosophy, theatre and freedom of speech and expression.
