Undoubtedly the most beautiful little port on the English Channel. The noble granite houses with their slate roofs and the charming little church facing the sea have made Barfleur a favourite with painters: Paul Signac lived there for many years.
Barfleur was one of the most important ports on the English Channel in the Middle Ages. Norman knights would embark here on their journey to their English fiefdoms.
