37. Montpeyroux

This picturesque medieval village is also one of the ‘most beautiful villages in France’. With its ancient gate, old stone houses and 13th-century keep, to which a crenellated platform was added in the 14th century, Montpeyroux is brimming with charm. Until the 19th century, the surrounding vineyards brought prosperity to the village before being completely devastated by phylloxera.
