Gordes is a stunning village perched on a steep promontory, which attracts large numbers of visitors in summer. It boasts a rich and varied heritage: two abbeys, a castle, numerous ancient hamlets, and several hundred dry-stone huts or ‘bories’, as well as several water and windmills, fountains, wash houses and water jars.

Whilst Gordes is the best-known village in the Luberon, one mustn’t overlook these other, more intimate gems: Bonnieux, Lacoste, Rustrel, Roussillon and Lourmarin.
