18. La Roque Gageac

This medieval village, with its perfectly uniform architecture, is listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Its beautiful brown houses huddle together, nestled against the vertiginous slopes of the rock overlooking the village, where the troglodyte forts of the bishops of Sarlat are carved out.

Visit the exotic gardens and the Renaissance-style Manoir de Tarde, stroll along the Roman roads not far from beautiful residences... At the entrance to the village, discover the Château de Malartrie. You can also take a trip on a traditional flat-bottomed boat (gabarre) on the Dordogne.
