In recent times, the place called until recently "Turk's Cape" (RO: Capul Turcului) has come to be known as "Swan Bay" (Golful Lebedelor).
Black Sea swans, although migratory, have been wintering for the past ten to fifteen years on the western coast of the Black Sea, particularly near the shore where they find favorable conditions and abundant food. On January 2nd, many locals and tourists come to admire them.
