I hate this clothing accessory, I have always suspected that it was invented by the inquisition or other scoundrels, intended for torture or the mental preparation of hanged people. It's not like that, it was invented by soldiers during the 30 years war. They were Croatian, hence their name (Croat => cravat) and had a uniform consisting of a red cloth, furs, a pipe and a tie. I like this.
