I pick up on a question recently raised by Serban: why do I publish? Deeper and more interesting than it seems. And the verb used is important. If the question of creating concerns only oneself; the question of publishing contains above all a social dimension. One create to develop techniques, externalize thoughts, take time for oneself... But why DO I publish?
Before answering, I want to specify that I distinguish between several possible actions: create a grid, test, write a presentation, publish a hanjie, write a comment and solve a hanjie. Thus, determining the range of actions that I will be able to do at a given time will entirely depend on my motivation and my social energy. There are times when I have the energy to create but not the inspiration of the text, times when I have the energy to publish but not necessarily the energy to respond to the comments on each grid, times when I have the energy to play but not necessarily the energy to publish, etc.
On the motivation side, it will mainly influence the content. I always try to be interested in what I want to pass down through what I share. On this, I agree with Serban. There are also series that I stopped because they took a direction that was moving away from me, my wishes, my values. There is nothing pretentious in that. To create is about to live for oneself. To publish is about to live in society. It is the perpetual research for a consensus between us and our impact. If we have ecological values, we seek a balance between our use of the vehicle and its impact on the environment. If we have social values, we seek a balance between our spending power and the impact on the producer. If we have educational values, we seek a balance between what we create and what the players learn from it :)
But posting on Hanjie-Star was above all a way for me to develop a social dimension, where it is often complicated for me in "real life". Ah! There is an action that I forgot in the list: read comments. This one, I do it whatever happens. My way of keeping a link with the site, even when I'm away. This is what allows me to come back each time, with the feeling of never having left.
This is why the image that I propose to you today is that of the flat knot. It is used to bind two ropes with the same diameter and it constitutes a solid attachment, which can be easily closed, loosened, reformed. Symbolically, it is often used to epitomize brotherhood. I put it here to greet our community, in which I was able to form my knot several times, go away, come back, without ever really leave :)
In a word: Thank you :)
