Pausias was an ancient Greek painter of the first half of the 4th century BCE, of the school of Sicyon.
Pausias introduced the custom of painting ceilings of houses and invented numerous technical procedures and ways of expression in painting. He was the subject of many Renaissance painters, I chose here a fragment from a painting by Rubens.
