  • 1 star rating after lots of effort into making a good challenge. Yikes! time to move on again :)

  • Excellent.

  • Very nice. 5 stars from me. It appears that your irrational 1 star-rating hater is outnumbered. You are up to 9/10. Keep them coming and ignore silly reviewers.

  • Phew - tricky, but logical. Thanks.

  • HINTS:
Many newcomers struggle to start when there is not an edge/border to start from.

At first glance of bottom two rows, the 11 has to contain many 1s and has to include the 3 in c12 which therefore has to be the 1 in R24, and the 2 in c19 which therefore has to be the start of the 4 in R24.

The top row 6 has to contain 1s. I can see at a glance that the only group long enough runs from c7 to c12; starting at c17 is the only other consideration but fails because the 1 in c22 would spoil the 3 in r2. Shorter runs of 1 make r2 impossible.

With these two starts alone, I would complete more than half the puzzle in a couple of minutes. I always draw with temporaries and constantly click 'Validate Temporaries' (or occasionally, 'Delete' temporaries) when it is clear that 'obvious' squares work.

  • I started off trying to place the 9 in r3 with temps. that got me through to the end.

  • Excellent puzzle. Tricky, but solveable!

  • Solving half the puzzle with temporaries and then "validating" your guess when it looks right is not logically solving a puzzle. saying in row one that the only logical spot is in columns 7 to 12 is also incorrect. anyone where from column 4 to 14 are possible without verifying a contradiction. Even then 7-12 and 8-13 don't quickly contradict meaning that you are guessing for half the puzzle. It may be logical in the sense of having a unique solution, but the path to get there requires guessing and checking.

  • Although I've found a few puzzles on this site to heavily rely on temporaries, I actually wouldn't say this one in particular does. Let me preface this by saying that I like to use what I call "spot temporaries" - basically, I don't use the temporary function (I rarely do), but just using what I see and a bit of memory I check whether a line or column is validated. I was able to solve this puzzle by just eyeing it. Not guessing, mind you, just evaluating logic 2-3 steps ahead.

So while I certainly empathize with frustration against puzzles requiring high use of temporaries, I didn't find it necessary with this puzzle.

    5 stars from me.

  • Not a conspiracy - I solved this puzzle without using temporaries. 2D logic is all that is required. In my opinion the temporary option should be removed as it is not necessary. This is the only site that I know of that has that feature.

  • @not_a_conspiracy : I did not use temporaries to solve this puzzle. it's a difficult one but not the hardest on this site (I enjoyed this one, since I don't like easy puzzles, I find them boring. )

  • I only use edge-logic on R25 and R1, without temporaries, and then I finished with only single-line logic. Very pleasant to solve and to see, thank you mystifier :)

J'ai seulement eu recours à la méthode des coins sur L25 et L1, sans temporaires, et ensuite j'ai finis sans besoin d'une méthode particulière. Très agréable à résoudre et à regarder, merci mystifier :)
