an old tale

Some enchanting facts:

“The Story of Jack Spriggins and the Magic Bean” was published in 1734 and Joseph Jacobs rewrote it as an English fairy tale in 1890, which is the version most often reprinted today.

Some researchers suggest that the tale may have been created millennia ago (4,500 BC to 2,500 BC).
In some versions of the tale the giant is not named, but in the 18th century tale "Jack the Giant Killer" the giant is known as "Blunderbore". And in "The Story of Jack Spriggins", the giant's name is Gogmagog.

The giant's slogan "Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman" appears in William Shakespeare's King Lear (circa 1606) as "Fie, foh, and fum, I feel the blood of a Briton. ”(Act 3, Scene 4), and a similar phrase also appears in“ Jack the Giant Killer ”.

Tested and logical. Enjoy :)
