A Timeless Tragedy

The story of Romeo and Juliet comes with a timeless lesson. Too often, the focus of the story is on the lovers and their alleged fate or circumstance. But 'choice' seems the true culprit laid bare at the feet of their parents – the Montagues and the Capulets who choose bitterness and unforgiveness. Shakespeare does not explain their ancient rivalry, only that it has cultivated hatred and unforgiveness for decades. When we are unwilling to forgive, we fail to see our common and shared humanity. Is it not sad that it often takes tragedies to unite us? I don't believe that tragedies have a purpose, but if they did, will we ever learn?

But enough of the gloom. We are here to play and find common ground. Enjoy blackening all the correct squares. :)
